Every Single Student. Every Single Grade.
We're thrilled to report that the 2025 school year ended with a remarkable achievement: 100% of students at both Arte Suave and Sertão Training Centers passed their grades and advanced to the next year. In Brazil, the school year follows the calendar year, making this achievement even more meaningful as students finished strong through December.
Participation in the jiu jitsu programs are tied directly to education and well-being. Every child must be enrolled in school, attending classes regularly, and staying drug-free. In communities where dropout rates can reach 40%, and where violence and poverty create daily obstacles to learning, local leaders walk closely with students and families. Through consistent mentorship, accountability, and tutoring support when needed, these leaders help ensure children stay in school and keep moving forward with hope and purpose.
This isn't just about grades. It's about:
Children who once skipped school now showing up eager to learn
Students getting the support and tutoring help they need
Parents gaining a community that strengthens them and shares the load through collaboration
Teachers reporting improved focus and participation
Youth choosing studies over the streets
What Made This Possible:
The training centers provide more than jiu-jitsu or activities. They create an ecosystem where academic success becomes inevitable:
Homework support from mentors who refuse to let anyone fall behind
Positive peer pressure where educational achievement is celebrated
Holistic development where physical training enhances mental focus
Belonging and accountability that makes showing up non-negotiable
This 100% pass rate represents hundreds of individual victories. Children who statistically shouldn't succeed, succeeding anyway. Futures being rewritten.
Education is upstream from everything else. When children pass their grades, graduate and are equipped academically and connected to community, transformation is catalyzed.
